Welcome, Communities!
This page is designed specifically for FirstService Residential communities that need an event liability insurance option when acting as the host or organizer of a community event.
Whether you’re:
Hosting a casual get-together in the clubhouse
Planning a new resident welcome party
Organizing a holiday or Christmas celebration
this coverage helps protect you and the association so you can focus on running a successful event with confidence.
What Does Insurance for Event Liability Insurance Cover?
When your community hosts an event, you take on added responsibility. Event liability insurance helps protect the association and its staff from unexpected incidents that can arise during resident gatherings.
Coverage may help with claims related to:
Resident or guest injuries
Damage to association property or rented equipment*
Alcohol-related incidents at hosted events **
For example:
If a resident or guest slips and falls in the clubhouse, liability coverage can help pay for medical expenses
If event decor, sound equipment, or furniture damages the clubhouse or rented space, coverage can help cover repair costs
If alcohol is served and a related incident occurs, host liquor liability coverage helps manage the resulting financial responsibility
This protection allows communities to confidently host events while minimizing risk.
*Does not cover damages to your own property, decor, or owned items. Only intended to cover damages to rentals or those of your guests.
**Liquor liability insurance is only included if alcohol is complimentary (not sold).
Event Insurance Coverage Limits
Event hosts need a variety of insurance coverages to sufficiently shield themselves from claims, including:
- General Liability
- Products-Completed Operations
- Damage to Premises Rented to You

Additional Insureds extend liability protection to other parties involved in your event. Communities will need the following additional insured:
